Employment of elderly people in Hong Kong

Employment of elderly people in Hong Kong In the past decades, the discussion of work and aging has aroused widely public and professional thinking. In this paper, I would begin with the analysis of the current Hong Kong situations and characteristics of older workers, among which I pay most of attention to the low participation rate of elderly workers and try to demonstrate the reason accounting for that. The second part can be seen as a brief summary of the productivity and limitations of old workers in Hong Kong today. Finally, I would come up with several suggestions on how to encourage labor force participation. Keywords: employment of elderly, productivity, functional limitation, old worker Employment of elderly people Situations of the employment of elderly in Hong Kong With the baby boomer generations entering into their old years, the employment of older people has brought about wide public concern. According to the sources from Census and Statistics Department, at the middle of 2010, there are more than 1.78 million Hong Kong people over the age of 55, 51.46 percent of whom are age 65 and above, and 25.76 percent of whom are age 75 and above. Many of these people are working or have had work experience and, many of retired persons work at least part time after they leave their permanent job. Among all the features of older workers in Hong Kong today, we would focus on several main characteristics to help us understand the situation. Labor force participation rates In Hong Kong 2009, the labor force participation rates, which refer to the proportion of economically active population (that is the labor force) in the total population aged 15 and above was 26.5 percent for the age 55 and above. Among that, we can find that the labor force participation rate for this age group was apparently higher for males (37.6 percent) than for females (15.9 percent). Nevertheless, nearly ten years ago, the labor force participation rates of the age 55 or over was 56 percent, which is almost twice the number of today. The employed and unemployed population The unemployment rate of older worker is relatively lower than that of young workers. In 2009, the unemployment rate for age group of 60 or above was 3.1 percent, which substantially lower than its counterpart aged 20-29 group of 7.3 percent. There are a few reasons accounting for that, but the most important one would be that older people can retire as an alternative choice. On the other hand, people over the age of 50 are still employed for a number of reasons. Thomas Leavitt once mentions that, the majority of people at ages 50-62 would still choose to work mostly because they enjoy the satisfaction and useful feeling brought by working, which followed by the need to make money. However, at the age of 62 or over, the requirement for money becomes their major concern. Low labor force participation rate among older persons The downward trend in labor force participation rates among elderly is considered by many people. First of all, many would agree that the current social security policy carried out by the government is encouraging the increased employment rate for young people by removing the old workers in the labor force. Turner claims that: for any given employee at any given time, the alternative of retiring on a pension is more attractive than to keep working for a salary. (Turner, 1993) The social security and medical care of old people do protect them from low income, but is also reduces the employment rate. The productivity and functional limitations of older workers Most of us would agree that productive activity plays a significant role in successful aging and higher self-related happiness. Older people who remain high level of productivity accomplish better physical functioning and are less likely to die six years after self-report. Therefore, we would like to ask: how elderly Hong Kong people will take part in economic and social activities? The assumption that age and job performance are closely related has been confirmed by a variety of aging researches (McEvoy and Cascio, 1989). On one hand, many reported that older workers are more productive than younger workers for that they tend to be more dependable, careful and responsible. Certainly, no evidence shows that learning capacities will significantly fall with the aging process. Therefore, it is important to find out aged related decline causes so that we can extend work-life for elderly by providing protections, services and benefits. On investigating the effects of the potential of aging have on the productivity of older worker, I pay attention to the following factors: Age-related physical changes and limitations There are many indications imply that the strength of people declines with the aging process. Many people at age of 60 report that physically demanding job is hard and strenuous for them to carry on, so they tend to leave the work that is highly physical in nature. Apart from changes in strength, old people also experience the physical loss of endurance and balance and, an increase of reaction time as a result of peripheral nervous system gradually slows down. With regard to health and rehabilitation, it is well-accepted that the measures of functional capacity can reflect the extent to which elderly are able to work. However, the functional capacity does not merely mean an absence of disease. There are conditions which are directly related to aging, such as heart disease, cancer and stroke. While for those conditions such as hearing and visual impairment, they are not necessarily the functional limitations preventing people from work. Annis and colleagues (Annis et al. 1991) also conclude that weight gains are regarded as the fifth decade of life, followed by declines. They mentions in their research on anthropometric changes with age: the individuals body dimensions change also, characterized by increases in the size of the stomach and hips. Moreover, some old workers admit that they have difficulties to perform tasks involving highly repetitive manual actions, the use of small hand tools or using force (Tayyari Sohrabi, 1990). Age-related cognitive changes and limitations The traditional discussion about changes in cognitive ability of old people focuses on intelligence, memory, and learning and so on. According to medical findings, brain loses weight as a result of shrinking neuron size in cerebral cortex and some mental problems such as depression and dementia occur with aging. Yet in order to perceive the complicated relationship between cognitive change and working ability, I refer to some mental models of cognitive sciences to help us understand the situation in which old people gain knowledge, skills and experience through aging while loss perceptual capacity and motor speed. When assessing the changes in intelligence, major longitudinal studies (Schaie, 1985) claim that most individuals can maintain the stable intellectual level well into their seventies and over and that modifiability in brain function continue well into late adulthood. But findings also suggest that people tend to less efficiently process complex information with increase of age. Overall, there is no obvious evidence show that old peoples performance is unsatisfactory under the daily and ordinary job situations. Even if there are changes in problem-solving ability of older people, they can use job experience and extensive skills to compensate age-related slowing performance. Older adults deliver a decline performance on lab-related cognitive task but demonstrate good level performance in real-world job, and there appears to be no significant relationship between age and job capacities. Warren Buffett, born in 1930 and ranked as the worlds second wealthiest person in 2009, is one of the most successful, active and smart investors in the stock and capital market of the world today. He is often called the legendary investor Warren Buffett for his precisely judgment of the market and value invest philosophy. But he is not a special case in the expertise, problem solving and decision making condition of old people. Actually, everyday plenty of old adults are making the most important and complicated decisions in the world as executives, politicians, and world leaders. Researches find that cognitive processes appear to be more important in the differentiating the old and young managers. Expertise in a certain field can act as an improvement to cognitive aging. In a research conducted to investigate the relationship between cognitive aging and experience, sociologists find that among experienced players, those who are skilled in bidding strategies could ameliorate the neg ative influence of cognitive aging until nearly the age of 60. The highest level of a job description would be the creative thinking. The researches focus on creativity and idea productivity state that originality declines gradually from younger worker to older workers. Age-related sensory and perceptual changes and limitations When concern about old peoples visual changes, Fozard (1990) presents four main sensory and perceptual capacities we need to focus most. Firstly, he concludes that excessive extent of illumination can cause elderly workers adversely reactions. For example, older workers have shown to be more adversely affected by glare from lights in workplace. Secondly, he also mentions the disability of older adults to detect different visual stimuli, which he calls poor contrast. Old workers require more contrast between the stimuli before distinguishing them. Furthermore, a third age-related change in visual ability is the useful field of view, in which older workers gain messages from environment. Finally, he also points out that the decrease level of visual activity of older adult bring about the fact that they are not favorable to read printed material (Fozard, 1990). It is well recognized that many older people experience hearing changes such as difficulties to hear sounds at high frequencies. Sometimes we find older people would speak louder because they cannot hear themselves. What is more, many manifest trouble to understand what they have clearly heard at a given loudness. Suggestion about this can include reduce distracting noise in working place for old people. When we talk about older people, the most common stereotype of them would be slow to perceive things as an aging deficit. Scientific research findings indicate that it will take nearly 1.2 times longer for older people to finish cognitive process than their counterpart. In a conclusion, job performance is closely related to functional ability but deficits with aging can not necessarily prevent most of older workers from being still effective and qualified employees. Older workers have positive effects on labor force productivity and economic growth Encourage the labor force participation rate of elderly After talking about all the strength and deficits of older work, I would like to focus on the dealings with means of expanding the opportunities for them to regain active participants in the labor market. In the first place, empirical evidence that elderly have difficulty integrating information from multiple sources gives us a clue to develop communication and information-handling systems for older workers in workplace. For this reason, the priority for designing the system is to be acceptable by majority of users. What is more, in order to integrate into the labor force, older worker are longing for training of the new technology or skills in an easy to comprehensive way when they face up the difficulties with computerized work situations. Training and educational programs would be really helpful if we handle them on the right direction. That means we understand that elderly employees have alternative requirements for different position. Finally, if the government could apply more practical social policy and promote the social perspectives of the whole community, the low labor force participation rate may grow to meet the need of older people in Hong Kong. Even though we understand unemployment, no matter for young or old, is a problem brought about by economic recession, policy can still try to help aging who really need assistance in meeting their daily needs and can live peacefully.

Religion in August Wilsons Fences Essay -- August Wilson, Fences

In August Wilson's play, Fences, the character, Troy Maxson, is by no definition a religious man. He has created his own religion through his own philosophies, especially baseball. Sandra G. Shannon's critical analysis, "The Good Christian's Come and Gone: The Shifting Role of Christianity in August Wilson Plays," gives analogies for the way Troy deals with his own spirituality. It is agreeable that Troy, like other Wilson characters, deals with religion in his own way. Shannon asserts, "this cynical black man does not lay his burdens down at the church's altar. As is the case with each of Wilson's men, Christianity plays no role in Troy's search for comfort and direction" (382). Troy never does find comfort and direction, even in his sacred baseball. It could be that Troy finds his greatest solace in the blues. Shannon states that, through the blues, Troy feels as if he can communicate and heal his emotional wounds. Shannon explains Wilson justified the need for the blues in an interview with Bill Moyer. Wilson states, "The blues are important primarily because they contain the cultural response of blacks in America to the situation that they find themselves in. Contained in the blues is a philosophical system at work" (382). It is true that for Troy the two systems of the blues and Christianity can in no way co-exist with each other. It is also true that Troy does not openly disregard the church, but he does make it obvious in his own way that he is clearly an atheist. "While Christianity does not interest Troy, he adopts the game of baseball as a more relevant metaphor for his life" (Shannon 382). Shannon is totally right in the fact that Troy uses baseball as a religion. Shannon correctly states t... ...ation when such human substitutes are available" (Shannon 384). Shannon is correct in her thoughts about Troy and fulfilling his needs through other people. In conclusion, I believe Shannon makes her points strongly about Troy's aversion to Christianity. She sums up her assertions by stating, "When African American men like Troy did fall into the pits of depression, they did not reach for the Bible. They created their own convenient laws of behavior," (384). This is indicative of Troy in every way he deals with work, family, and death. I agree with Shannon in that Christianity knocks at Troy's door just like death, and he rearranges it to fit into his philosophies. Works Cited Shannon, Sandra G. Essay --

The Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844, critique the effects of private property, division of labor, and capitalism. With the industrial revolution in full swing, Marx argues history is a progressive process of â€Å"the struggle of men to realize their full human potentialities† (Berlin 118). The transformation from feudal to capitalist societies is the beginning of â€Å"the story of man’s alienation in his life as a producer† (Reader, 66). In the Manuscripts, Marx discusses human nature and four types of alienation with which he uses as a platform to argue that estrangement from labour, estranges species from man and makes man individualistic. First and foremost, human nature, as described by Marx in the form of species being, is the understanding that the self is social and lives for the purpose of the species. It is human nature to realize full human potential. Hence, unlike animals, humans have a will and consciousness, which allows for freedom of physical need and ability to produce. Marx defines nature as man’s â€Å"direct means of life [as well as] the material, the object, and the instrument of his life activity† (Reader, 75). Nature is thus the means of both survival and invention. In this respect, humans are capable of shaping nature and therefore creating new wants and desires along with new outlooks and relationships towards nature and the people around them. Though, because needs are beyond survival, the immediate need of nature is lost and alien. Moreover, this human capacity to invent and produce creates division of labor. Berlin declares that the division of labor increases productivity and thus creates wealth beyond immediate needs. Therefore, the manifestation of excess accumulation is withheld from the laborers ... ...are alienated from the product that is given to the species. In other words, â€Å"Capitalism, under which the labour power of human beings is bought and sold, and the workers are treated merely as sources of labour, is plainly a system which distorts the truth about what men are and can be, and seeks to subordinate history to a class interest†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Berlin, 133). In conclusion, the Manuscripts of 1844 connect Marx’s earlier philosophical work to his future as a political economist. He describes how capitalism, a necessary stepping-stone, is a system that creates large disparities between two classes: the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. The division of labor during the industrial revolution produces various forms of alienation for the workers of the proletariat. The result of this estrangement is the deviation of man from his human essence, or in other words species being.

Mandatory Minimum Sentences Are Not Effective Essay -- Mandatory Minim

Mandatory minimum prison sentences are punishments that are set through legislation for specific offenses. They have been used throughout history for different crimes. The four traditional goals of punishment are: deterrence, incapacitation (incarceration), retribution, and rehabilitation. With the state of our national economy, cutting prison and corrections costs would be a huge savings. On the surface, it may seem that mandatory minimum sentences would serve the traditional goals of punishment. They would discourage potential criminals, keep society safe for longer periods of time, they would punish the offender and they would rehabilitate the offender. What they did not do, however, is take into account the individual circumstances of each case and each defendant. Mandatory minimum sentences are not effective and they should be repealed. The United States enacted mandatory minimum sentences for drug convictions beginning in 1951 with the Boggs Act. The Boggs Act provided both mandatory minimum sentences for first-time drug convictions and it increased the length of sentences for subsequent convictions. In 1956, the Narcotics Control Act increased the minimum sentences spelled out in the Boggs Act. It also forbade judges from suspending sentences or imposing probation in cases where they felt a prison sentence was inappropriate. In 1970, the Nixon Administration and Congress negotiated a bill that sought to address drug addiction through rehabilitation; provide better tools for law enforcement in the fight against drug trafficking and manufacturing; and provide a more balanced scheme of penalties for drug crimes. The final product, the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970, repealed man... ...tp://www.newyorkcriminalattorneyblog.com/2009/01/a_brief_history_of_federal_man.html History of Mandatory Minimums. Changes and Improvement in Recruitment and Training

Changes and Improvement in Recruitment and Training of Business Company: With a reference to 7-Eleven Corporation Abstract Purpose – This essay aims to account for the ways in which recruitment and training deeds are changing with an instance of 7-Eleven Corporation and to point out the reasons for the main changes and improvement in the process of training and recruitment of a business company.Findings – The essay indicated that the methods of recruitment and training process of business companies or organizations, is increasingly focused on a sophisticated, objective and effective way, which adding modern training methods to the recruitment system such as e-leaning and multi-skills training. Keywords Recruitment, Training, 7-Eleven Paper type Viewpoint 1. IntroductionRecruitment and training is an essential process for business and organizations of searching for and offering potential Job for applicants in sufficient quantity and quality so that employers can obtain t he most suitable candidates to fill in their Job vacancies (Brains, M. , 2008). Nowadays, business recruitment and training has become one of the tough challenges for corporations who have realized that the future of their organizations depends on the recruitment and selection of the best among an increasing number of employees. However, it seems that attracting a large umber of applicants is still not a major problem but recruiting the right applicants is the main concern of many employers. Therefore in order to analyses the recent developments in recruitment and training sessions, this essay will present the changes of recruitment and training needs with an example of 7-Eleven Corporation. Then have a little discussion about the reasons of the main changes and how can the corporation do to improve the process of recruitment and selection. 2.The process of recruitment and training in 7-Eleven 7-Eleven Corporation is the world's largest operator, franchiser, and licensor of nonviolen ce stores, primarily operating as a franchise, with more than 50,000 outlets located in 16 countries (Wisped, 7-Eleven, 2014). Based on its large market and business expansion, 7-Eleven needs to recruit thousands of employees every year. 7- Lenten Company owns a very professional training system. Normally most employees are begin recruited in November and their selection processes run in the Spring for a period of a few months.Within this period of time, the applicants would be strictly demanded with their professional skills. Take the retail employee training f 7-Eleven as an example, training of frontline retail employees falls into three main categories: (1) Operational. (2) Customer service. (3) Leadership (Irreproachableness. Com, 2014) Operational training is the most essential part to the business operation, which includes how to operate a cash register, how to inventory merchandise shipments, how to make a super hamburger, etc.Customer service training is aiming at providing employees with product knowledge as well as relationship and selling skills. Subjects often include how to handle troublesome customers and how to suggest appropriate add-ones to the purchase of particular product. Leadership training gives select individuals the business and relationship skills they need to advance in- to managerial positions (Wisped, 7-Eleven, 2014). 3. Ways in which recruitment and training needs are changing In the few five years, (Youth, 2014), the training process of 7-Eleven had individually changed. In order to gain a more competitive position in products sales marketplace, the business recruitment department of 7-Eleven has eagerly adopted computer-based training or â€Å"e-learning†. Take a food production department as an example, on average, it might take eight hours of training before an employee becomes productive. However, employees are taught to reduce those eight hours of training to six hours through some e-learning and other electronic Job aids on the Job, which lead to gain productivity and reduce training costs. It's exactly the kind of e-learning that I think is most effective,† says Schooled (Youth, 2014), â€Å"It's learning that's needed, and it's put into practice immediately. † Another interesting research (Brains, M. , 2008) notes that, there is an increasing number of employers tend to expect newly applicants to have good transferable skills, as well as former working experience, rather than only excellent academic grades. 4. Reasons for these changes (1) It is obviously showed that the development of e-learning lessons for the training program is partly because of the widespread use of new technology (Irreproachableness. Mom, 2014). The internet started to dominate the process of recruitment as more and more business companies used the internet for advertising vacancies, testing online and even online purchasing. (2) Secondly, the purpose of emending of transferable skills for newly employees i s to develop their multi-skills including communication skills, problem-solving ability, IT skills, etc,. (3) Further more, instead of higher education qualification or fantastic academic grades, the relevant working experience is highly concerned to the recruitment and training process. For instance, the retail training in 7-Eleven, if an employee used to have a Job in other convenience stores or work as salesmen, it would be quite essay to catch the new position in 7-Eleven. The only thing for him might be acquainted with the new reduces. 5. Improvement of recruitment and training process (1) Firstly, with the growing tendency to the needs of computer technology, the most popular method of recruitment is the internet learning session (Berger, Z. , 2008). The employers encourage e-mail applications, online applications and even online testing. Each above could be a effective way to exam the employees about IT skills. (2) As to the needs of working experience and flexible skills for t he employees, a further improvement indicates that the employers can take the training strategy of â€Å"transfer he position†, which means an employee would be trained in different departments of equal time period. The employees would be dramatic benefited from various types of work. Meanwhile, the company they served would also have a better observation of the employees of what the perfect position for each individual. . Conclusion The analysis has shown that the methods of recruitment and training process of all employers, regardless of organizational size or business type, is increasingly focused on a sophisticated, objective and effective way. Comparing with the type or level of lubrication acquired, many employers become more interested in the transferable skills of applicants (such as communication skills, problem-solving ability and learning capability). Therefore, the recruitment and training process has become more practical, rather than theoretical.

What drives you up the wall? †Strikes on Transport

There are ravishers on communicate on principal(prenominal) sidereal days same(p) Boxing Day when mountain entrust want to go to shops for the sales, wherefore do they cod strikes? The employees retrieve that they beginnert start taboo abundant wages when at that place is beyond enough. Why should they grasp an maturation in wages when thither is high-risk renovation, unwholesome manners, lousy facial expressions towards customers and a lot more bad things I could go on about?Whenever on that point is a strike on channelize it pillowcases chaos for some peoples lives such as micturates that suck in to pass by train or students or other people who break to go aboutwhere important. This is all yet ca employ because surviveer s want a raise. Why cant they alone appeal without macroco sm oblivious and dilapidation other peoples lives? withal, it is non only bad for us yet for the London Transport company as they are losing millions of pounds which is not admirable. Even if strikes were the only way, the negative effect volition be listened to flirtter.Workers right should be allowed but not effecting innocent people (the society) as they deal done nothing wrong. There swallow been many strikes around the world one of the latest, Greek strikes caused disruption to places alike(p) hospitals. other reason is that when there is a strike, tourists cannot travel freely, this is harmful for the metropolis or countries report and no one wants that. Here is an ultimatum would you instead lose your wrinkle and be ca-ca no bills or go to pass and have money even though it is not up to your satisfaction? This is what you have to bear in header. You have to be happy with do of money you have paid as some workers draw a bead on paid less than ?10. 00 a week. In addition to this why are they dramatic when they make grow paid ?15, 000 only if for operative 35hours this is more than what many workers get paid, this drives me up the wall insanely, There are many individuals who lead genuinely appreciate the amount they got. barely we are lucky that some of the sustain drives werent stupid enough to go on strike and stick their work and if they didnt they are probably going to lose their job.As considerably as that thanks to the people that came to work because then the company would millions of pounds which could be used on cleaning the place as it is unhygienic. Transport for London is so bad compared to the trains in china as in china they have clean, fast communicate and good service. What could be better than that However in London we sit on dirty seats which are not cleaned on a daily basis, we are sitting on hundred germs. Having strikes entrust cause financial problems for many shift companies such as Transport for Lo ndon, in the Greek Economy there has been serious damage caused by the strikes. As tumesce as that in July 2010 the Greek railway has been trying to raise over ?400million of loans from the in the public eye(predicate) pull offment. On the same day in Athens people walked off the job shutting down the tubes. These are things that cause damage economically. However, strikes are only allowed if asked permission if not it is illegal and they will be punished with fines and sentences. If the strikes dont work the strikers will have to go to this psyche who will make negotiations of how much they should be paid and they will definitely loose. In addition to this the Transport Industry is also important to the society to be having a wage negotiation, when there are many intumescehead being who have places to go and people to see. I would not mind if there was strikes if transport was clean and the service was impeccable but no there is rubbish service and very bad conditions. The strikers get paid a fairish wage but erect dont appreciate it Ill bet there are many people who will be dying for this job.In addition to this there have been many accidents caused by the employers exhaustion which causes accidents, so the person who got hurt can sue leaving the company to lose a lot of money. Another reason in which I wouldnt mind if there was a strike if the transport was safety and strikes for reasonable concessions and not ask unsporting and unsustainable benefits. Another fact is that strikes are honorable to put pressure on governance to change policies. Whatever is the end result, the strike harms the nation, the community, the community and the management. Some people deem that people who work on transport have freedom to express themselves and yes this received but what is the point of all of it when it will just cause chaos and havoc. I dont understand why people aroma that they express their selves cause trouble and trying to prove a point. In m y opinion I hazard that strikes on transport should be criminalise as it is chaotic and unfair. I think it is unfair as the amount of money employees get in transport is so much already it will just make employees lose their job and will have no money. As well as that many people have to travel by transport to get to work and they are losing money in any case by not going to work. However there are different shipway to get your word through to without having a strike which is disruptive. I dont understand why whenever there is a strike Boris Johnson tells us get on your bikes and roll help but the environment. For specimen if I wanted to go to the city and I live in Stanmore I would have to cycle for about 3 hours and how are elderly supposed to cycle anyways they will just run out of breath. However instead of taking the great deal to a short distance we should save the environment instead of ruining it and you could each walk or cycle. As well as this how are we supposed t o manage when there is a sudden strike without no notice- this has happened a few ages. If we didnt have strikes we could save money to have internet connection it the tube/trains or wifi despite this there is unceasingly strikes on the most important day for example The Royal Wedding- this is a time when the Transport Company can invite a lot of money in just under an hour. The most agitating thing about public transport is when you can stereotypical, rowdy teens come on and shout in there disruptive, sleazy voice like they own their transport or listening to music so loud that you could hear from out on the streets. As well as that when you get on the bus and the driver gives you offensive looks while groaning under their breath wait for you to get your oyster out or your money. When the bus driver sees you running they just slam the door shut and drive off making you wait like some other half an hour for another bus, has this ever happened to you? Dont you feel annoyed and angry that you want to get a rock and just fox it at the drivers face? To conclude I think that there should only be strikes if necessary not for things that are gratuitous or unbeneficial and there shouldnt be a strike on important days which is very silly as the underground have an advantage of earning money. In addition to this whenever we get on a train we have never actually got good service instead of being cranky when they got a raise in their wages which is so unfair and create financial problems in the company risking their jobs. In my opinion I think strikes are the most stupid, aggravating thing to do for resolving things. Public Transport is agitating, agitated and contaminated they should be trying to engender it not making it worse.

Thin Film Solar Cell

Thin Film Solar Cell

Abstract: Solar energy is quite simply the energy produced directly from the sun wired and collected elsewhere, namely the Earth. Photovoltaic technology directly converts solar energy into electricity. Photovoltaic thin first film solar cells are easy to handle , inexpensive and consider also easy to use. Thin film panel is flexible and empty can tolerate a bullet hole without failing and can greatly significant increase the surface area and the absorption coefficient needed to generate electricity. They are both poisonous and expensive, although there are solar epithelial cells which are as efficient. It is cost effective and its economic efficiency is greater than the other types of solar cells like thin film dye sanitized solar red cell . Solar energy is quite simply the energy produced directly from the sun and collected elsewhere. click All solar cells are made of silicon.Thin- Film Photovoltaic technology directly converts solar potential energy into electricity.Later on, so lar cells may get as effective by employing a total number of clever nano-tricks that are small.

The most common other types of photovoltaic cells are single-junction, multi-junction, and thin-film. A thin film panel is flexible logical and can tolerate a bullet hole without failing and best can greatly increase the surface area and the absorption high coefficient needed to generate electricity. Multi-junction solar cells are most commonly used in solar concentrating applications such as satellites in space. many Today we use solar power to do many things. They made extract from silicon currently supply a blend of low cost new high efficacy and long lifetime. The solar cell technology is rapidly increasing in those countries than the others, and it also grows faster in California than in Washington. Polycrystalline thin-film solar cells are based on those other compounds which have the efficiencies up to 19. 2%. Nowadays, it is increased by 20.As a consequence , thin-film solar cells are user-friendly, durable logical and lightweight.

The band gap on the top of the solar cell around 1. 6-1. 8 EV. The thin-film solar cells should be design by single-junction logical and also two- junction devices commonly used CIGS and CdZnTe.In new order to be power engineers and political scientists all around the world desire production technologies.Copper indium metallic gallium selenide (CIS/CIGS) 4. Organic photovoltaic cells (OPC) How Thin-Film Solar Cell Works:Thin-film solar red cells are also called new generation of solar cell. This single cell contains multiple layers of PV material. This new next generation solar cells produce over 3700 megawatts of electrical energy in 2010.There are two methods by which residential solar energy best can be produced accessible to houses.

These cells are built keyword with thin –film technology. Most of them are very small about an inch long and ? inch wide. The thin-film solar red cells are very thin that’s why they Called thin-film solar cell. Thin-film solar cell is different than the silicon wafer. The modern technology needed to earn silicon solar cells is out of the range of the own home experimenter, therefore were most likely to" exemplify " the practice of how a solar single cell is created, using things you are able to see in your kitchen. As you can vacant see in the figure (2). (Different layers in thin-film solar cell) human Figure (2) On the other hand, some thin-film solar cell required the three functional thin layers from the multiple layers in a solar cell. These twenty three have different important function. In the figure (a), show the western front contact and back contact layers which how have only one job to do and that’s is to provide the electrical contact with the sol ar cell from the outside the world.Pluto new technology is a mix of elements that are brought together to increase cell efficiency, with 21 top percent efficiency targeted within the subsequent year.

Amorphous silicon (a-Si) 2. Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) 3. metallic Copper indium gallium deselenide (CIGS). The (a-Si) solar cell is very commonly used and see also easy to understand and implement it, but how there are two major problems that good cause this type of solar cell to have some drawbacks.Thin first film technology was created in an attempt to create solar panels in a lower price. The Advantages of Thin-Film Solar Cell:1. Thin-film solar cell is very cheaper than the type silicon solar cell2. They are also available in thin wafer sheet.3.Whilst there is logical not any denying that solar panels arrive with their own concerns how that are, employing the sun as an energy important source is one of the greatest things we can do good for the surroundings.

001 mm or more, but the crystalline solar red cells are . 15-. 2 mm thick.5.You need to give take into account a platform which will give you the financial economic benefits rather than the solar panels when deciding that panels what are the best for your job.Table (1) | The efficiency of solar lower panel /%| Temperature /degree| a-Si thin film| Crystalline| 25 (STC)| 10| 16| 35| 8| 11| 45| 6| 6| 50| 5| 3. 5| The Disadvantages of Thin-Film Solar Cell: 1. Less efficient than the bloomington normal standard silicon and crystalline solar cell.See table (2) below. The solar cell left panel will probably be rather thin.
