Economic Freedom Vs. Interdependence :: essays research papers
Economic freedom cannot be fully instated as long as interdependenceexists. The reasoning for this is that interdependence directly makeeconomic freedom. The basic idea in these two terms is options.Economic freedom bases having unlimited and unrestricted options, whileinterdependence equals limited options. It is hopeless for these twoideas to completely coexist to the entirety of their definitions. Thegovernment is forever creating and amending rules, regulations, andlaws, which constitutes in limiting economic choices and options.Economic freedom is the aspect of choice. It is a belief that tout ensembleows from each one individual to fully choose exactly how they use their money whilehaving unlimited options when making economic decisions, with theadvantage of unbounded possibilities. If there were unlimited options,it would mean that anything that is desired should be able to becomereality. With the absence of restrictions, having unlimited optionsallows individuals to act independently with their decisions.Interdependence, relating to the consumer, is practically the oppositeof economic freedom. Interdependence means limited options and addedrestrictions. With interdependence, the choices the consumer makes andthe options he has are dependent on the decisions made by others. Theycould be other consumers, entrepreneurs, or the government. Laws, taxes, and the role of Alan Greenspan are also part of this idea.Interdependence means that all the consumers economic decisions are outof his control because they depend on the decisions of others. Based onthis definition, interdependence and economic freedom are opposingconcepts. The concepts are connatural in that they are both economic terms thatentail a system of making decisions based on the consumer. Both alsodeal with the concept of options. However, that is also exactly howthey are different. It is like two sides of a coin, one is for options, and one is against them. Economic freedom is all about unlim itedoptions therefore, it could not possibly coexist with a governing thatrelies on limiting options. Achieving complete economic freedom dependson interdependence and what limits are being set. It is possible thatboth concepts could coexist in a watered down state, like a compromise. There may be a variety of choices in one area for the consumer, simply notin another area. It is also possible that complete economic freedomdoes not exist. In the American economy, the government is the mainsource of interdependence, entirely without the government, Americas economywould be shattered.

In Frankls book, he tells of many indignities that were stripped away from them.He and his confederate prisoner lacked food, clothing, hygiene, and medical care. Linux Security Technologies Essay
In a world so largely dependent on computing machine transcriptions, inadequate security measures could lead to anything from having a single persons financial in mastermindation compromised to an electronic 9/11 against some of our countrys most safe federal computer lucres. In the modern computer based society we live in, security is essential to protecting everything from personal desktops all the way up to the most secure federal databases. And many corporate and government level computers are based on the Linux kernel.SELinux has 3 states it can be in if on a system Enabled, Disabled, and Permissive. Enforcing means SELinux security policy is active, Disabled means SELinux security policy is not active, and Permissive is a diagnostic state commonly used for troubleshooting. To rectify understand what improvements Mandatory entryway Control (MAC) can provide for security, one films to know about the standard Linux security provision called Discretionary Access Control (DAC ). DAC, though it is steady a form of security, only provides minimal protection to a Linux bear down system. With DAC, access to files merely requires needed permissions from the owner of the file to access (commonly referred to as file permissions), often requiring a password to open. A radical weakness of DAC is not being able to fundamentally differentiate amongst human exploiters and computer programs. And with so many systems often having such large numbers of users, it only takes hackers accessing a single users account to draw access to any and all of the files they have permissions for. If the compromised user account were to have super-user ( touch ontle) access, the hacker could then gain access to an entire file system. This became the basis for access up with a more secure way of protecting wrongful access into standard Linux based systems. SELinux utilizing MAC, on the other hand, was created to address this very weakness that DAC has as the standard Linux secur ity. The way MAC helps improve overall security of SELinux is by providing what is called granular permissions for every subject (user, program, process) and object (file, device). In other words, by MAC, you only grant any subject the specific object or objects required to perform a specific function, and no more.Compared to DAC, security is more part and has more layers of protection. Hence, SELinux provides a much more secure environment than the original Linux security features alone can. Another feature providing further security for a network is TCP Wrappers. TCP Wrappers work by controlling access through the utilization of IP addresses. In Linux, this is accomplished through 2 specific files that need to be created. The first file, hosts. deny, is a file listing name of hosts that are to be denied access to the network. The second file, hosts. allow is a file listing the names of hosts that are allowed access to the same network. The absence of theses 2 files, would allow the entire Internet access to network services, severely lowering the security of a host. This lowers a system being compromised through a sort of gate guard with an access list policy. If your name appears on the list, you gain access if its not, you fagt. Creating an artificial root directory is yet another way to provide security for Linux systems, and is commonly referred to as a chroot jail. This prevents accessing or modifying, possibly maliciously, any file exterior the directory hierarchy. The command required to create a chroot jail is /usr/sbin/chroot. Note, you must be working as root inside the Linux shell to do this. By creating a chroot jail, it prevents users from navigating up the hierarchy as high as possibly / (root). Even if the user did not have permissions required to edit higher directories, they may still be able to see files they dont have any reason to have any access to.Chroot can be useful for providing basic preventative security by making it more diffic ult to exploit information on a server. But, by limiting user access in this way, if a user account were ever hacked, it still provides yet another layer of security by limiting the amount of access each user account has to begin with. It is important to understand that you must run a program in chroot jail as a user other than root (/). This is because root can break out of jail, making the chroot jail not provide the security it is intended to against unwanted access.Setting up iptables is another form of network security in Linux. They allow for setting up a firewall on the network. Iptables allow for network packet filtering rules. The use of iptables function allows rules to be set up that can reject inbound packets opening new connections and accept inbound packets that are responses to locally initiated connections. This basic feature therefore acts as a firewall to the system, preventing unwanted outside attempts to hack into a host network. In conclusion, with the technologi cal direction of our future apparent, security technologies will be a continuing publicise that will never stop making further advances. After all, the financial, physical, and ideological future of our country, and people as a whole, cannot afford to do otherwise. As our children, and childrens children, begin to take the reins of this electronically motivated world, computer security technologies will lodge to be an important issue as long as we continue as a society. Respiratory System Mechanics Essay
1.) When you forcefully exhale your entire expiratory reserve volume, any air remaining in your lungs is called the residual volume (RV). wherefore is it impossible to progress exhale the RV (that is, where is this air volume trapped, and why is it trapped?)This dead space of air needs to stay in your lungs constantly otherwise the lung allow completely deflate. If the lung has every bit of air sucked out of it, it will collapse and need to be re-inflated.2.) How do you measure a persons RV in a laboratory?By the air remaining in the lung3.) Draw a spirogram that depicts a persons volumes and capacities before and during a evidential cough.Additional Questions for Activity 1.The following questions refer to Activity 1 Measuring Respiratory Volumes and Calculating Capacitates1.) What would be an example of an everyday respiratory event the ERV clitoris Stimulates? forced expiration2.) What plusal skeletal muscles are utilized in an ERV activity? abdominal-wall muscles and the internal intercostal muscles contract3.) What was the FEV1 (%) at the initial radius of 5.00 mm?73.9%4.) What occured to the FEV1 (%) as the radius of the airways decreased? How well did the results compare with your prediction?FEV1 (%) decreased proportionally with the radius5.) Explain why the results from the experiment suggest that there is an obstructive, or else than a restrictive, pulmonary problem. The FEV1 (%) decreased proportionally as the radius decreased, characteristic of an obstructive pulmonary problemActivity 2 comparative degree SpriometryChart 2 Spirometery ResultsPatient TypeTV (ml)ERV(ml)IRV(ml)RV (ml)FVC (ml)TLC(ml)FEV1(ml)FEV1 (%)Normal50015003000 railway yard50006000400080%Emphysema5007502000275032506000162550%Acute asthma attack glide slope3007502700225037506000150040%Plus inhaler50015002800120048006000384080%Moderate exercise1875112520001000ND6000NDNDHeavy exercise36507506001000ND6000NDND1.) Why is residual volume (RV) above pattern in a patient with em physema? The lungs empty slower than normal.2.) Why did the asthmatic patients inhaler medication fail to return all volumes and capacities to normal value right away? The smooth muscle in the bronchioles didnt return to normal plus mucus still blocks the airway.3.) Looking at the spirograms generated in this activity, state an easy way to determine whether a persons exercising effort is moderate or heavy. The more rapid the lines the more heavier the exercise.Additional Questions for Activity 2.The following questions refer to Activity 2 Comparative Spirometry1.) What lung values changed (From those of the normal patient) in the spirogram when the patient with emphysema was selected? Why did these values change as they did? How well did the results compare with your prediction?ERV, IRV, RV, FVC, FEV, and FEV1 (%) all changed these are referable to the loss of elastic recoil2.) Which of these two parameters changed more for the patient with emphysema, the FVC or the FEV1? FEV1 decreas ed significantly more3.) What lung values changed (from those of the normal patient) in the spirogram when the patient experiencing an penetrating asthma fall upon was selected? Why did these values change as they did? How well did the results compare with your prediction?TV, ERV, IRV, RV, FVC, FEV1, and FEV1 (%) all changed due to restriction of the airways4.) How is having an acute asthma attack similar to having emphysema? How is it different?Similar because obstructive diseases characterized by increased airway resistance Different because more difficult to exhale with emphysema that with asthma5.) Describe the effect that the inhaler medication had on the asthmatic patient. Did all the spirogram values return to normal? Why do you debate some values did not return all the way to normal? How well did the results compare with your prediction?Returned to normal were TV, ERV, FEV1 (%) smooth muscles in the bronchioles didnt return to normal ghastly mucus still blocks the airway 6.) How much of an increase in FEV1 do you think is required to be con arrayred significantly improved by the medication? 10-15% emolument7.) With moderate aerobic exercise, which changed more from normal alert, the ERV or the IRV? How well did the results compare with your prediction?IRV changed more with moderate activity8.) Why is normal quiet breathing so difficult for premature infants? They dont have much surfactant.2.) Why does a pneumothorax frequently lad to atelectasis? If the lungs are broken down mechanically, thusly the chances of developing increased.Additional Questions for Activity 3The following questions refer to Activity 3 Effect of Surfactant and Intrapleural Pressure on Respiration1.) What effect does the addition of surfactant have on the airflow? How well did the results compare with your prediction?AIrflow increases because resistance is reduced2.) Why does surfactant affect airflow in this manner? It decreases surface tension in the alveoli making it easier for the alveoli to increase surface area for gas exchange.3.) What effect did opening the valve on the left lung? Why does this happen? The lung collapses because the pressure in the pleural cavity was less than the intrapulmonary pressure air flows from the lungs, causing it to collapse4.) What effect on the collapsed lung in the left side of the glass bell jar did you observe when you closed the v alve? How well did the results compare with your prediction? It caused the lung to collapse because the pressure in the pleural cavity is less than the intrapulmonary pressure. Air flows from the lungs causing the collapse of the lung.5.) What emergency medical condition does opening the left valve simulate?A collapsed lung (pneumothorax) is a buildup of air in the space in the midst of the lung and the chest wall (pleural space). As the amount of air in this space increases, the pressure against the lung causes the lung to collapse6.) In the last part of the activity, you clicked the Reset button to sire the air out of the intrapleural space and return the lung to its normal resting condition. What emergency procedure would be used to achieve this result if these were the lungs in a living person?A chest by insertion of tube to draw air out of pleural cavity and restore the pressure gradient7.) What do you think would happen when the valve is opened if the two lungs were in a sing le whopping cavity rather than separate cavities? If both lung were in a single large cavity rather than separate cavity when valve was open the entire lung will collapse and there will be no extra lung to breath with and decease would occur much sooner.

Huntsville Project
Karen Brown PROJ586 Huntsville Project November Term Week Three Question 1 Estimated completion Time of Project According to the requirements that we become set for this project we will non be able to complete it by the expected date of November 2013. With the core of resources that we quest to complete the project our new projected end date is January 30, 2014. There are a few options that we can take to let down the total of time needed to complete this project by the proposed date of November 2013. Proposed Changes to ScheduleWe can expedite the project by reducing the amount of time we have slated for almost of our larger working classs. By recalculating and essentially shortening the register we can decrease our project by 10%. A change in the estimated duration of any activity on that path will cause a corresponding change in the slack for that path. (Gido and Clements 167). Currently we have several tasks that we can reduce time * Recruiting & Training Managers 6 w eeks (CP) * Creating Building Design 6 weeks (CP) * Building twirl 40 weeks (CP) Procuring Equipment 24 weeks * Procuring Truck Fleet 8 weeks (CP) Of the five tasks identified, quaternity of these tasks are along our captious path and attribute to 60 weeks or a little more than a year. If we were able to reduce tasks along the critical path by 30% it would provide us an extra 18 weeks or four-and-a-half months to complete the inscription. According to our current schedule we are exceeding our schedule by two-and-a-half months. I am proposing that we reduce all of the aforementi unrivalledd items by a total of 0% will save us two-and-a-half months on our schedule and should provide adequate time to complete the project in the specified time. Proposed Weekly Allotments * Recruiting & Training Managers 5 weeks (CP) * Creating Building Design 5 weeks (CP) * Building Construction 36 weeks (CP) * Procuring Equipment 21 weeks * Procuring Truck Fleet 7 weeks (CP) Reallocating imagerys In order to reduce the amount of time we have for each project, we will also need to change how we presently have our resources allocated. The largest impacts we potentially face are hiring additional cater increase our costs and scope. In order to complete the building locution in 36 weeks, we will need to hire additional construction workers through our general contractor. The other tasks will require looking at the task leads and reallocating their percentage of responsibility and possibly moving someone to from task to another to complete on time. Question 2 After reviewing the Allocated Resources Reported we are currently over allocated in the beginning phases of the project. The Facility Specialist is has about 110% of responsibilities in the first week of the project. There are a couple of options that we have available to combat this problem. Reassigning Tasks This can be resolved by having the Project solicitude in a more active role selecting an architect. By increasing the Project Managers workload to 10% it allows for us to reduce the Facility Specialist load to 50%, leaving him at 100% for the first couple of weeks of the project. Resource Leveling Another approach that we can take to rectify our over allocation is to level the project.Leveling the projects that are over allocated will result in one project being placed on hold until another project is complete (Gido and Clements 234). The task that is over allocated, selecting an architect, has no successors so it will not promptly affect any of the other tasks in the Work Breakdown Structure. Resource-Limited Scheduling This option will allow for us to create a new replace schedule that equally matches our staffing capacities. Instead of spending two weeks to look for an architect we can shorten that timeframe to one week. That additional week will allow for staff to spend time on their other assignments. All of these tasks have a positive slack, meaning they have some time to be completed be cause they are not along critical paths, and should not change the date in which the project will be completed. Of the three options that are available, Resource Leveling will be the most efficient to achieving our goals an d having the right amount of expertise involved in the project. Bussines Communication
BUSINNESS COMMUNICATION Business parley it is the communication between the people in the organisation for the purpose of carrying out the note activities. It is a process of ex turn of facts, ideas, opinions and as a means that individual or organization share means and understanding with one anformer(a). In other words, it is a transmission and interacting the facts, ideas, opinion, feeling and attitudes. Communication adds meaning to human life. It serve ups to build relationship and fosters love and understanding. It is two sheaths of communication formal and inner.FORMAL COMMUNICATIONS- instance of formal communication are board meetings , letters. They are formal methods because when we using them we have to use specific formats and follow rules INFORMAL COMMUNICATIONS-example of informal communication are conversations , emails and text messages . Informal communications do not follow any prescribed conventions or formats and often happen spontaneously. I talked c with draw types of communications use by Tesco Tesco plc is a global grocery and general merchandising retail merchant headquartered in Cheshunt, United Kingdom.Related reading Tesco Communication With CustomersTesco is the fourth-largest retailer in the world measured by revenues, after Wal-Mart, Carrefour and Metro. The second-largest measured by profits after Wal-Mart. It has stores in 14 countries across Asia, Europe and northeastern America and is the grocery market leader in the UK (where it has a market share of around 30%), Malaysia and Thailand. There are few types of communication verbal, written, on- screen, web-based, multimedia. VERBAL- human faceTO FACE -Nothing can replace the value of face-to-face communication. Its easier to communicate verbally than any other way because you get to understand every detail that is macrocosm spoken by the other person. In Tesco customers communicate with the staff members they can ask questions if they dont understand the instructions c learly. Effectiveness of meetings When theres an issue that requires a decision, youre able to reach a consensus more pronto. When there are many people in a meeting, theres more energy and opportunities to participate and creatively contribute. Oftentimes theres also a synergy thats achieved which ignites discussion and innovative thinking. You can brainstorm more easily and solve a handful of problems Nonverbal communication Someone who is frequently checking their watch or yawning, would tell you very easily that its time to wrap things up or make an effort to change the quality of your voice to be more engaging (or at least change the subject. ) And the very oppo position is also true if colleagues are smiling, nodding or leaning forward, you know that theyre invested and have their buy-in. There isnt much scene involved. A personal touch. Theres a feeling of community because were better able to socialize and interact with one another. We quickly build a bond that sets the fou ndation for trust and ultimately, lasting tune relationships. WRITTENLEAFLETS-Written communication has great significance in todays business world. Effective written communication is essential for preparing worthy promotional materials for business develop workforcet. Effective writing involves careful choice of words, their organization in correct pasture in sentences formation as well as cohesive composition of sentences.
